Rare vintage gents stainless steel Omega Seamaster wristwatch with date and day, ref #166.0213.  Black Omega dial with applied star and bar markers, date and day window at the 3 o’clock.  Stainless steel bezel.  Swiss made, self winding automatic movement, caliber 1020.  The case back is stamped Seamaster with the Omega Hippocampus seahorse logo in the center.  Comes on a stainless steel Omega bracelet with a #1286/249 buckle.  Accompanied by a fitted Omega watch box.  Approximate diameter is 35mm.  The Omega star dial makes this an unusual and rare model.

Silver hands show signs of aging.  Hesalite Omega crystal showing some hairline scratches.  The watch has superficial scratches due to normal wear and age.  Overall condition is good. Running at the time of inspection, however not checked for accuracy nor water resistance/proofness.  An overhaul is always recommended for used watches.

In 1848, Louis Brandt founded La Generale Watch Co. in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.  In 1903, he changed the name to Louis Brandt et Frere – Omega Watch & Co which was changed once more to the current Omega SA in 1982.  Throughout it’s rich history, Omega was chosen as the official watch for Britain’s Royal Flying Corps in 1917, the US Army in 1918, and most famously for NASA in 1969.  Some of Omega’s most well known models are – Omega Speedmaster Professional, Omega Speedmaster, Omega Seamaster, Omega Constellation, Omega De Ville, Omega Dynamic, Omega Flightmaster, and Omega Railmaster.  Not as widely known, Omega even created a Tourbillon in 1947.
