Lot #AN3191 – Patek Philippe Tiffany Ricochet Pocket Watch 788/2

Very rare and fine vintage 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe Tiffany & Co Ricochet asymmetrical pocket watch by Gilbert Albert, ref #788/2.  Circa 1962.  Champagne Patek Philippe hammered dial signed Patek Philippe Geneve Tiffany & Co with painted black hour indicators.  Blue steel baton hands.  Engraved bezel and case pattern matching the dial.  Swiss made, keyless mechanical manual wind movement signed Patek Philippe & Co.  Inside of case back is stamped Patek Philippe & Co Geneve 18k 0.750 788/2 and a six digit serial number.  Snap on case back.  Can be secured to a fob.  Accompanied by Patek Philippe archive extracts, Patek Philippe suede pouch protector, and a blue Tiffany & Co pouch.    Approximate diameter is 43mm between the two furthest points.

The “Ricochet” asymmetrical pocketwatch was designed by Gilbert Albert for Patek Philippe.  Gilbert Albert started designing award winning and highly collectible art jewelry, wristwatches, and pocket watches since 1962.  He began designing watches for Patek Philippe and Omega at a very early age.

The minute hand has a small spot approximately the size of a pinpoint.  Overall condition of the pocketwatch is excellent.  Running at the time of inspection, however not checked for accuracy nor water resistance/proofness.  An overhaul is always recommended for used watches.
