To celebrate their 150 years, Cartier introduced their Collection Privées de Cartier of various objects. Each object was released in specific numbers. Each edition number symbolized something different: 3 represented their boutiques in Paris, London, and New York, 150 represented the number of years in business, and 1847 represented the year they were established. This 150th Anniversary collection was only sold through the Cartier boutiques.
In 1847, Cartier was founded by Louis-François Cartier.
