Constant Girard founded Girard & Cie in 1852.  He married Marie Perregaux and their company become known as Girard-Perregaux Manufacture in 1856.  They won several awards for their Tourbillon watches in the mid to late 1800’s.  They went on to secure around 80 patents with their innovative concepts.  Some iconic models include the Girard Perregaux Three Bridge Tourbillon, Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945, Girard Perregaux 1966, Girard Perregaux Laureato, and Girard Perregaux Cat’s Eye.  They also collaborated with Ferrari and Team BMW Oracle Racing for several watch models.
