Vintage stainless steel and gold men`s Omega Speedmaster “Teutonic” chronograph wristwatch, ref #145.0040 circa 1982. Champagne Omega “T SWISS MADE T” dial with black indexes and silver sunken sub-dials, outer minute/seconds, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers. Black baton hands with luminous. Swiss made, mechanical manual wind movement, Omega caliber 861. Round button chronograph, engraved gold bezel with tachometer graduation to 500 UPH. Sapphire crystal. Comes on a stainless steel and gold Omega bracelet with a #3007/19 buckle. Approximate diameter is 42 mm without the crown. Accompanied by an Omega watch box. The box has wear which can be expected. The watch has superficial scratches due to normal wear and age. The overall condition is good. Running at the time of inspection, however not checked for accuracy nor water resistance/proofness. An overhaul is always recommended for used watches.
The Omega Speedmaster Teutonic was made exclusively for the German market.
In 1848, Louis Brandt founded La Generale Watch Co. in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In 1903, he changed the name to Louis Brandt et Frere – Omega Watch & Co which was changed once more to the current Omega SA in 1982. Throughout it’s rich history, Omega was chosen as the official watch for Britain’s Royal Flying Corps in 1917, the US Army in 1918, and most famously for NASA in 1969. Some of Omega’s most well known models are – Omega Speedmaster Professional, Omega Speedmaster, Omega Seamaster, Omega Constellation, Omega De Ville, Omega Dynamic, Omega Flightmaster, and Omega Railmaster. Not as widely known, Omega even created a Tourbillon in 1947.
