Jumping Seconds aka Deadbeat Seconds or Dead Seconds (Seconde Morte) beats at one beat per second which is seen when the seconds hand jumps between seconds. Richard Towneley created the deadbeat escapement which was later used by George Graham in regulator clocks. Starting in the 1950`s and 1960`s, watch manufacturers like Omega and Rolex used this mechanism in such models as the Rolex Tru Beat and the Omega Synchrobeat.
